Experience Cherry Blossom at Starbucks

We’ve seen Cherry Blossoms when we were in Taiwan just recently. They were beautiful, especially when the trees are in full bloom and there are lots of trees around. During Spring, these are most anticipated. The breath-taking sight of cherry trees tinted with the pale pink haze symbolizes beauty, life, and renewal.

This year, I am very excited because Starbucks also embraces the changing of the seasons with new Springtime favorites inspired by Cherry Blossom.

Experience Cherry Blossom at Starbucks

AZUKI BLOSSOM CREAM FRAPPUCCINO  (Tall – ₱ 175 | Grande ₱ 190 | Venti ₱ 205) is made with creamy milk blended with ice and red beans which creates sweet treat. It’s topped with red beans, fluffy whipped cream, falling petals of white and pink rice blossom petals and tart dried cranberry bits. This beverage is a perfect cherry blossom season treat!

MATCHA AZUKI BLOSSOM CREAM FRAPPUCCINO (Tall – ₱ 175 | Grande ₱ 190 | Venti ₱ 205) is creamy and delicious with the bright flavors of matcha and sweet red bean. Pink and white rice petals reminiscent of cherry blossom and cranberry bits cascade on top of whipped cream and red beans.

Both drinks are available in Frappuccino® format only and I can’t wait to try them!

Experience Cherry Blossom at Starbucks

Of course, the Cherry Blossom season won’t be complete with the 2019 SAKURA CARD! It warmly welcomes the Sakura season with the beauty and delicateness of the Cherry blossom’s pale pink petals. It’s available for an initial activation amount of ₱300 per card.

Aside from delightful cherry blossom beverages, stunning Sakura-themed merchandise is also ripe for the picking in Starbucks stores. With a dainty palette of pink, purple, and gold, the collection depicts two kinds of cherry blossoms, inspired by traditional hand drawings and oil paintings that captures its beauty.

Some items from the collection include double-walled mugs with rubber lids in Blossom Pink and in Blossom Gray with Sakura motifs, tumblers like the clear Cold Cup designed with a sprinkling confetti blossom and complemented with a lid and straw, and even adorable Bearista Bear Keychains in pastel pink.

For those who want to bring spring’s unique flavors into their cup of coffee at home, the Starbucks Spring Season Blend combines four distinct coffees from around the world to deliver a big syrupy body with dark cherry and cedary spice flavors.

Starting March 12, customers who purchase any of the two featured beverages can experience Cherry Blossom at Starbucks. Customers simply need to scan the QR code that can be found in each cup when they purchase either a Matcha Azuki Blossom Cream Frappuccino or an Azuki Blossom Cream Frappuccino. After scanning the QR code, they will need to locate the banner with the Cherry Blossom to trigger the AR experience. Upon scanning, customers can take their selfies under Cherry Trees of falling cherry blossoms.

Starbucks Siren’s Island and Exciting Summer Offerings

The Siren’s Island

One of the many things I’m looking forward to when Summer comes is when Starbucks launches their Summer offerings. They always launch it accompanied by a big event and always with a knock-out theme. This year, the Starbucks Siren called customers to revel in a fun and feel-good break at the Siren’s Island – an island-carnival event where they could throw their cares to the wind and have a good time, all while enjoying the latest Starbucks’ summer offerings.

At the event, the entrance was a grand Starbucks Ship welcoming deck – a wooden dock that marked the entry way to the sweetest destination. Fusing the elements of an island getaway and a summer pier carnival, the Siren’s Island brought the best of summer experiences in one spot.

We were given a “ticket” to be able to try out the different stations that were inspired by the new Starbucks beverages.

First up is the tall, Dark Caramelt Mountain with its rich caramel lava.

This is where Ykaie tried to shoot three “caramel” balls into a pot but wasn’t successful…

Fortunes were uncovered at the Triple Mocha Room which was designed in true carnival fashion. Inside was a fortune teller with a crystal ball…

There were also plenty of games to play at the boothsjust like berry-picking at the Mixed Berries Forest and the classic ring toss game at the Red Velvet Magic Shack.

Ykaie enjoyed every minute at the carnival. Especialy because the funfair was complete with a food cart that served up the new Starbucks drinks and snacks. Check them out below…

Take a 15-Minute Vacation with These New Beverages

TRIPLE MOCHA FRAPPUCCINO (Tall – ₱ 170 | Grande ₱ 185 | Venti ₱ 200)

This new beverage is a dream come true for dessert lovers! Starbucks signature Mocha Frappuccino is topped with rich Dark Mocha Sauce and layered between signature whipped cream infused with cold brew, white chocolate, dark caramel and a dollop of Dark Mocha Sauce at the bottom of the cup.

DARK CARAMEL COFFEE FRAPPUCCINO (Tall – ₱ 170 | Grande ₱ 185 | Venti ₱ 200)

Topped with rich and buttery Dark Caramel sauce, the new Dark Caramel Coffee Frappuccino blended beverage offers layers of signature whipped cream infused with cold brew, white chocolate and dark caramel.

RED VELVET CAKE CREAM FRAPPUCCINO (Tall – ₱ 170 | Grande ₱ 185 | Venti ₱ 200)

A confectionery-inspired blend of chocolaty chips, mocha sauce, raspberry and vanilla syrup, topped with whipped cream. Perfectly sweet and velvety smooth.

Ykaie and I tried the new MIXED BERRY FRAPPUCCINO WITH POMEGRANATE PEARLS (Tall – ₱ 170 | Grande ₱ 185 | Venti ₱ 200) and we loved it! It’s mixed berry sauce blended with velvety milk creating a smooth fruity beverage. Topped with whipped cream to balance the tart berry flavor of this summer drink. It tasted like berry flavored frozen yogurt drink with popping boba! It was so so good!

Have you tried out Starbucks newest Frappucccinos?? Tried them out yesterday and it did stand out to its promise of helping me sit still, slow down, and savor its rich flavors. Kind of like hitting a pause button for life’s hustle and bustle.

Bursting with break-power, Starbucks is transforming the usual coffee break into an indulgent escape with the Ultra Caramel Coffee Sphere Frappuccino, which is an upgrade on the classic Coffee Frappuccino but with a refreshing pop to it – small coffee spheres bursting with Starbucks Brazilian Coffee. Parang coffee popping boba but smaller. The delectable blended beverage is topped with a dollop of whipped cream and even more coffee spheres.

For those of you with fruitier cravings, I bet you’ll love the new Watermelon and Lychee Aloe Frappuccino, a drink that looks and tastes like a slice of watermelon. The zesty blended beverage is supposedly made with watermelon juice blended with chia seeds, layers of floral lychee-infused whipped cream, and diced lychee aloe. Since it was a new drink, nakalimutan yata nila yung whipped cream. But no worries because it still tasted great.

Starbucks also captures our seafaring summertime daydreams with Anchors Aweigh. The nautical-themed collection depicts cute illustrations done in line drawing style with white, ultramarine and navy blue colors and red and silver accents.

A perfect complement to the new summer merchandise is the Nautical Whale Card. This quirky card features a whale diving into the ocean with its tail sticking out against the sailor stripe design, available for only a minimum P1,000 activation.

Everyone deserves a break every once in a while. Grant yourself the permission to pause from the daily grind and enjoy a short and sweet escape at Starbucks with their indulgent new summer offerings!

Timog Coffee, Baler

Remember we went to Baler last November to celebrate Ykaie’s 12th birthday? Well, ngayon pa lang ako magkwe-kwento ’cause alam nyo naman, life is a bit busy. Let’s start with the first thing peanutbutter♥ and I did after putting our luggages in the room… We had our afternoon coffee.

I, personally, have coffee three times a day — two in the morning and one in the afternoon. My 2nd and 3rd cup is usually with peanutbutter♥ and it was very timely because we passed by Timog Coffee on the way to Aliya Surf Resort.

We shared a small pot of Sultan Kudarat (₱100). Usually, we each have two big mugs of coffee but since we are not at home, pwede na rin. It’s good local coffee, I tell you… and they serve it with 4 pieces of Choc Nut on the side. Coffee is always good with something sweet on the side, right?

peanutbutter♥ also ordered this Egg Toast Plate (₱95) which has grilled local pandesal, cheesy scrambled egg, and a dollop of tomato spread. Sarap naman especially because the bread was buttered and grilled…. This turned out to be merienda-slash-breakfast

We loved having coffee at Timog Coffee. The staff are friendly and the coffee and food is good. If it weren’t for all the other coffee shops and restos we promised to try, we’ll surely have our coffee here everyday.

Timog Coffee is located at Alley 2 Buton Street Brgy Sabang Baler, Aurora

The Dirty Coffee: Poop In A Cup

This post is long overdue! We had coffee at The Dirty Coffee in Tagaytay in December 2019, I so wanted to blog this but things got busy and then the pandemic happened. Of course, all establishments temporarily closed their stores. Ngayon, some restaurants and coffee shops are opened and are accepting take-out and deliveries. I think The Dirty Coffee is selling their coffee in shopee and is now open for take-out and delivery. So I’m sharing my experience with you because you might wanna try Civet Coffee yourself.

A few years ago, I heard about Civet Coffee (or Kopi Luwak) and made a metal note not to try this coffee even though it’s one of the most expensive.

Why? Because I don’t like the feeling of drinking something that already came out of another being’s intestines. Yuck lang, diba? But I changed my mind because I realized how much I love coffee and life is too short for me not to try this coffee.

The Dirty Coffee: Poop In A Cup

What is Civet Coffee?

Civet Coffee comes from the partially digested coffee cherries, that has been eaten and  defecated by the Asian Palm Civet (o Musang). Kaya ito tinawag na civet coffee. The coffee cherries are fermented as they pass through a civet’s intestines and that’s where its flavor comes from.

You can see the photo above, the 3 stages of this coffee beans. First is the dried coffee beans that has been through the civet. Second are the cleaned roasted coffee beans. And third are the ground coffee, ready for brewing.

The Dirty Coffee: Poop In A Cup

Look at how expensive this coffee is per cup!

Eh ang dami namin, we decided to just buy a pack of coffee and have them press it for us. A pack costs around P900+ if I can remember correctly. I think we were able to drink 6 cups of coffee and still had some left in the pack to bring home. Sulit na!

The staff offered to have a coffee demo. Watch the video below to see how it went.

Watch The Video Here:

This is my cup. (Ang ganda ng coffee cup nila no?) Syempre, may ka-partner na cake ang coffee ko.

From left to right: peanutbutter♥, me, Papa Sony (FIL), Mama Lucy (MIL), Kuya Jojo (husband of SIL), Bradzen, and Ate Arlene (SIL). Nasan sila Ykaie at Twinkle? Nasa car at ayaw bumaba. Matutulog daw si Twinkle at babantayan ni Ykaie.

FINAL SAY

Buti na lang I changed my mind and tried it because it really was good. It has a mild acidity and very smooth. It may be considered as”thin” coffee but I don’t mind.

The Dirty Coffee: Poop In a cup is located at Aguinaldo Highway cor Magallanes St.,Tagaytay City
